WAN AZIZAH NO LONGER RELEVANT AND OPPOSITION PACT IN DISARRAY

wan-azizah-karpal

PKR Dr Wan Azizah Ismail said the party has no objection to Christians using the word Allah in the Bible, contrary to PAS Ulamak Council’s decision.

Her state came at a moment when the opposition pact is struggling against the people’s mood to keep Barisan Nasional (BN) in power.

PKR, DAP and PAS are now desperate as the last two days of campaigning see their influence eroding fast and their push falling apart.

In Geylang Patah, Johor, Lim Kit Siang is facing problem as the Chinese themselves (not all though but enough to shake Lim’s confidence) are still mulling over whether to go for DAP or the Ghani Othman who have made their businesses and life comfortable.

In Perak, the Chinese are pondering whether to have representatives – MPs and assemblymen – who are just talks but do not serve them or even try to solve their daily problems on issues that affect their bread and butter.

In Kedah, the Malays are coming back in droves for BN as they saw the PAS-led state government failed to generate sufficient economic activities to allow them to support their daily needs.

And IN Kelantan, the wind of change is definite as even PAS supporters are abandoning their posts, swept by the need to go back to the right path in their Islamic practices and principles, notwithstanding the need for economic needs for their families.

The political climate has change and so is the political equation and not all Chinese are really for DAP chauvinistic principles and approach.

Given the scenario which is not positive for the opposition pact, Dr Wan Azizah who is PKR president but overshadowed by her husband Anwar Ibrahim, has suddenly came out in the open.

But unfortunate for her, at a time when the oppositions are being pushed against the wall, the issue she raised is no longer effective to change the tide.

The issue now is real and present – PAS is adamant to have its Islamic state and Hudud laws while DAP is dead set against it and her own party is in disarray, does not know which direction it is going except to put Anwar as Prime Minister.

The perception that Chinese are for DAP no longer holds water as not all Chinese are for DAP as many now see there is no need for dissenting voices in Parliament as BN led by Najib Tun Abdul Razak is already open and pragmatic.

Businesses are now based on merit, education grants are based on merit, Chinese education is recognized and qualifications from these colleges and schools are recognized.

The climate is for 1Malaysia where all races blend under one banner and any grievances are handled on merit of the case rather than on privileges.

In desperation, the opposition pact is now raising issues that are no longer relevant to the voters who see the mess and ‘war’ among them.

Its time that their slogan UBAH goes the other way round – the voters UBAH and bury them for good.
