Why Would PR Suggest Communist-like Flag

The efforts of Pakatan Rakyat in introducing a new flag to change Jalur Gemilang is truly eating them up again. Even though Anwar tried hard to deny that PR had such intention, but when his Selangor economic advisor officer, Najwan Halimi, Selangor’s economic advisor admitted that he was the creator of the flag.

Najwan defended his ‘Sang Saka Bangsa’ flag which he claimed he had designed since 2007. Najwan’s Facebook profile described himself as the Deputy Information Chief for AMK Malaysia, plays ‘moderate’ politics and the founder and director of Pak Sako Academy, an academy which uses Pak Sako or Ishak Haji Muhammad, the individual who came out with the idea for Melayu Raya Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei.

Do remember that in 2003, PKR, back then which goes by the name of Parti Keadilan Nasional (PKN) had joined Parti Rakyat Malaysia (PRM), the only left-wing party which still exists until today.

Going back to the history of PRM, in 1958, under the leadership of Ahmad Boestamam had joined Malaya Labor Party under the leadership of Pak Sako dan Parti Perhimpunan Kebangsaan (Abdul Aziz Ishak) and named their coalition as Malayan People’s Socialist Front (Left-wing coalition).

Prior to that, oin 1938 Ahmad Boestamam established Gerakan Kiri Tanah Air (KITA) which worked alongside Parti Komunis Malaya to fight against Japan. He then formed Parti Kebangsaan Melayu Malaya (PKMM) in 1945.

PKMM had two youth branches Angkatan Pemuda Insaf (API) led by Boestamam and Angkatan Wanita Sedar (AWAS) led by Shamsiah Fakeh who was also a communist activist.

In 1947, PKMM was led by Pak Sako.

PKMM then established Pusat Tenaga Rakyat (PUTERA) and worked alongside AMCJA (All-Malaya Council of Joint Action) as Malaya socialist coalition. This coalition was established to fight the 1948 Federal Treaty to form Persekutuan Tanah Melayu.

This is because PKMM was more interested to get Tanah Melayu to join Indonesia to gain Independence in 1949.

To make sure the inspiration would become a reality, PKMM took Indonesia’s flag – Sang Saka Merah Putih as their party’s flag and Indonesia’s national anthem as their anthem which is always sang during PKMM assemblies.

Sang Saka Merah Putih

When the Indonesia-Malaysia confrontation occurred in 1963, Ahmad Boestamam, Pak Sako and Aziz Ishak were arrested under the Internal Security Act (ISA) for being traitors, working alongside Indonesia.

And the irony here is, Anwar is also seen as the national traitor and often visit Indonesia to tarnish the image of Malaysia, as if he is trying to create yet another confrontation.

Perhaps Anwar is trying to expand the idea of Pak Sako which was to form Indonesia-Malaysia by putting himself as the leader of Malaysia?

We cannot imagine what kind of explanation would PR give for this Sang Saka Malaya flag issue. PR could keep on denying but the damage has been done. Rakyat has now realized who PR really is and what are their real agenda for Malaysia.
