A Mamak In KL Ordered To Close Temporarily After Workers Tested Positive For COVID-19

Malaysians sure love eating out, especially at a mamak because the food are fast and cheap.

But it looks like we would have to stay away from mamaks for a little while.

According to The Star Online, two foreign workers at the mamak were screened during a random exercise by district health officials on Saturday (15 August).

The two workers, who have been sent to the Sg Buloh hospital, are reportedly Indian nationals who live in Setapak.

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a statement quoted by the news portal that the ministry would be doing further investigations and taking additional samples from the workers.

For the time being, Dr Noor Hisham said the mamak has been ordered to shut down temporarily for sanitation and cleaning works.

The Federal Territories Health Department said the mamak will be closed for two weeks to have the premises sanitised under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988.

So guys, reduce eating out for now, OK? Just make your own roti canai at home.
